The Circle of Fi5ths Song Cycle is an acoustic music event that occurs on the 5th of every month come hell or high water.

It takes place in the very hospitable Old Swan, Earls Barton.

Musicians of whatever ability are welcome to come along and perform whatever songs they have. The idea of the event is to try and build up a theme on the spot with performers drawing inspiration from each other as to the song choice. It's also an opportunity for artists to collaborate with people they wouldn't ordinarily get the chance to perform with: more than a just a random jam.

Don't worry if you don't have an instrument as there'll be plenty who'll be happy to loan you their's.

Also don't worry if you're a singer but need backing. Bring a copy of the chords along and there'll be bound to be someone who's more than willing to have a go at accompanying you.

Despite it being acoustic the size of the venue does demand a PA be used. We have also now taken to recording all the performances and certain numbers can be found by clicking on the sessions link.

The event is very informal and very spontaneous.

Most of all it's fun.
